Agfa HealthCare DR Solutions and MUSICA Support Royal United Hospitals Bath, UK, to Optimize Patient Care and Enhance Informed Care Decisions

Agfa HealthCareAgfa HealthCare announces today that its top-of-the-line, ceiling-suspended direct radiography (DR) solutions will support the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, UK, to optimize patient care and enhance informed care decisions, through the excellent image quality and the potential to reduce patient imaging radiation dose.

Enhancing the patient experience and outcome
The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust provides acute treatment and care for a catchment population of around 500,000 people in Bath, and surrounding towns and villages. The 687-bed hospital and its 4,800 staff offer a comprehensive range of acute services.

To continue enhancing its patient care, the hospital has implemented two Agfa HealthCare DR 600 direct radiography rooms, with state-of-the-art automation and design in a complete and integrated solution. One room is for general use and the other for Accident & Emergency. With their cesium iodide detectors, the DR 600s offer Royal United Hospitals Bath the potential for significant patient dose reduction[1]. At the same time, the immediate availability of images speeds up workflow: not only are patient waiting times reduced, for a better patient experience, but images are quickly available for reading and analysis.

The excellent DR image quality and MUSICA image processing software provide consistently reliable, high-quality image visualization, supporting radiologists and clinicians to make informed decisions on diagnosis and treatment.

The faster throughput will allow the hospital to see more patients, while still providing an excellent level of personalized care. The DR 600 has also been designed for easy use by the staff, with the latest in auto-positioning technology, fully-automated tracking and manual position - with quick, near zero-force movement of the tube head, wall stand stand and table in all directions.
