The Swiss Society for Medical Informatics (SSMI) is holding its annual conference at the SeHS; this year it will be celebrating its 25th year. Its President, Prof. Christian Lovis, says: "Information technologies represent the biggest revolution of the modern era. It is a privilege to be part of this revolution; but you can't just sit back and watch it happen. You have to actively participate - be committed, informed and proactive because information technologies are significantly changing the landscape of our health system and our society. It's a change that will form an important part of our future."

Vendors of IT solutions for the healthcare industry are proving to be innovators within the Swiss healthcare IT sector. HIMSS will also be contributing to the programming with a panel discussion of the use of mobile technologies led by Prof. Jürgen Holm, Fachhochschule Bern. And, Uwe Buddrus, Managing Director of HIMSS Analytics Europe will be presenting data on Swiss hospital digitization in his key-note speech on the first day of the event.
