AppCircus Searching for the Best Health App

conhIT 201514 - 16 April 2015, Berlin, Germany.
AppCircus, the biggest competition for mHealth apps, will be taking place for the first time at conhIT in Berlin, Europe's largest event for health IT. The best apps that supports "interaction between doctors, nurses and patients in Europe" will receive an award.

Over the past two years the number of mHealth applications has doubled. Currently, over 100,000 apps are available for iOS and Android operating systems, and the number is rising. These intelligent applications for mobile devices have long ceased to be niche market products and instead have firmly established themselves in health IT circles and consequently at conhIT.

For the first time, this year's conhIT will include a ‘mobile health zone’ that will present the latest mHealth innovations and trends.

This competition, in line with other well-known Appcircus App-competitions aims to draw even more attention to this topic and to raise awareness to the practical demands made on health apps.

Taking part in this competition gives health app developers and companies a unique opportunity to demonstrate the practical aspects of their solutions and to present them to an expert audience.

The award ceremony will take place on 15 April 2015 at 2 p.m. on the 'mobile health ZONE' in Hall 4.2.

Conditions of participation
Applicants have until 22 March 2015 to submit their entries for the health app competition. Candidates are invited to submit mHealth apps that support “interaction between doctors, nurses and patients“ and can be put to use in a healthcare environment anywhere in Europe in hospitals, rehab centres, nursing homes and general patient care).

App submissions can be made online, free of charge, under the following address: http://appcircus.com/event/appcircus-conhit.

The winner of the conhIT AppCircus competition will be nominated for the Mobile Premier Awards 2016, the world’s largest app exhibition at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona.

Senior health IT and mobile IT authorities form the conhIT Appcircus panel. They include Mr. Thomas Apfelthaler (Heidelberg Mobil International), Mr. Guido Burkhardt (qhit healthcare consulting), Mr. Ulrich Haase (Universitätsklinikum Tübingen), Mr. Andreas Kassner (bvitg e.V.), Mr. Henning Koch (ZAB ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg GmbH), Mr. Ulli Koop (XL Health AG), Mr. Gregor Pickert (CIO Universitätsklinikum rechts der Isar, München), Mr. Thorsten Schütz (head of IT and Business Organisation, Klinikum Itzehoe), Mr. Stefan Smers (CIO University Hospital Leipzig), Dr. Kai Sostmann (specialist, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin), Mrs. Anne Wolf (E-HEALTH-COM) and Mr. Stefan Zorn (SIBB e.V.).
