conhIT 2016: Health IT Industry Actively Seeks and Supports Newcomers

conhIT 201619 - 21 April 2016, Berlin, Germany.
conhIT once again aims to bring the health IT industry, healthcare institutions and prospective employees together under one roof, tying in with the career and youth development activities of the sponsor, the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg).

The career services specifically target students who will soon be graduating and want to get started in a career. These include the conhIT-Newcomer Award, the Career Workshop, the Speed Networking event, the job Market and the Career Guide. Furthermore, a limited number of free tickets and reduced-rate tickets will be available especially for students.

According to Ekkehard Mittelstaedt, managing director of bvitg, the sponsor of conhIT, "conhIT is not only where all the leading health IT suppliers meet, but also offers graduates a unique opportunity to start their careers. The health IT industry depends on qualified employees to enable it to develop, promote and implement quality products in a dynamic and sensitive market. With our career services we aim to help healthcare manufacturers and institutions in their search for talented employees."

One of the highlights is certain to be the presentation of the conhIT-Newcomer Award 2016. Science-oriented young people with a focus on medical informatics, e-health, health economics, health management and healthcare management have until 14 March 2016 to apply with the final paper of their Bachelor's or Master's degree. A panel of experts representing science and industry will look at all the papers and give awards to those which display a particularly practical approach towards improving healthcare using IT.

Prize money totalling 5,000 euros will be awarded for the best Master’s thesis and the best three Bachelor’s papers. Every participant will also receive a surprise gift as a "thank you" and a free ticket to conhIT. The authors of the best final papers will also have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive conhIT Meet & Greet event, where they can meet with the sponsors of the prize money who are leading industry players. The official award ceremony will take place at the conhIT closing event on 21 April 2016. On the eve of the ceremony the winners will also be able to present their work to an expert audience.
