Outstanding Achievement Award to UK Telehealth Pioneer

DocoboAdrian Flowerday, Managing Director of Docobo Ltd, has been awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award by Intellect in recognition of his work as chairman of the Telehealth group. The Telehealth group was formed in 2006, and has steadily grown in size and reach, and now attracts all the key players involved in the UK health IT industry. It has made a significant contribution to informing the NHS QIPP agenda on the benefits of Telehealth and the formation of the DH '3Million Lives' campaign.

Adrian was presented with the award at the March Intellect board meeting which included a meeting of the Intellect Leaders Network. Presenting the awards David Callaghan, President of Intellect's main board, thanked Adrian for his efforts on behalf of Intellect and its members.

As chair of the Telehealth Group Adrian has helped with some major achievements in 2011

  • In March the group published a paper on how Telehealth can meet the NHS Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) agenda, a well-received publication (over 1,000 downloads) that was launched at The Kings Fund as part of their International Telehealth Conference.
  • Adrian was a key supporter for Intellect to co-found the 3millionlives Telehealth campaign announced by the Prime Minister in December 2011.
  • Adrian has been a driving member and leader in the healthcare programme, contributing to the national and international debate of Telehealth as an innovative and enabling health solution.
  • In addition to this Adrian has also assisted with other initiatives within Intellect including taking part in the Innovation Den series and the Technology Showcase currently being held at BIS.

Adrian was one of four senior figures who received the Outstanding Achievement Awards as recognition of their work as chairman of groups and councils. Other recipients of the awards were Andrew Rogoyski, Chair of the Cyber security Group, David Terrar, Chair of Intellect's Software as a service (SaaS) group and Ian Henley, Chair of the Membership Committee 2008-11.
