Helse Nord RHF in Norway Chooses MetaVision as their Hospital-wide EMR for the Entire Region

iMDsoftiMDsoft announced that Helse Nord RHF in Norway has chosen the MetaVision clinical information system for the entire region, for over 2000 beds. Helse Nord RHF is responsible for all public hospitals in northern Norway, and is comprised of 4 health trusts with 12 hospitals. The system will be used in all hospital beds including emergency departments, ICUs, ORs, PACUs, pre-op units, general wards and out-patient clinics. iMDsoft and EVRY, one of the largest healthcare IT solution providers in Norway, cooperated on this project.

Helse Nord RHF sought a clinical information system that would provide an electronic medical record across their network, automating documentation and informing clinical assessment, care planning and treatment. Helse Nord RHF was impressed with iMDsoft’s critical care expertise and their ability to extend that expertise to lower acuity areas of the hospital, helping prevent patient deterioration, costly complications and readmission to the ICU.

iMDsoft has a proven track record of successful region-wide projects. MetaVision's unique architecture enables efficient software deployments across multiple sites, promoting standardisation and enforcing clinical best practices. MetaVision provides data continuity across hospitals in the network and between departments, ensuring smoother handovers. The system is able to seamlessly integrate with Helse Nord's existing IT infrastructure, causing little disruption to their current workflow.

Adopting a clinical information system was part of the network's ongoing effort to increase patient safety, specifically through electronic medication management. MetaVision supports the full medication cycle: ordering, preparation, and administration. Safety checks via barcode scanning ensure that all medication orders are correct. Synchronisation with third-party drug libraries streamlines prescribing and enhances clinical decision support. Best practices are enforced by ensuring the use of hospital preferred products.

"We are excited that Helse Nord RHF chose to partner with us, and we look forward to working together towards our common goal of improved patient safety," said Lars-Oluf Nielsen, CEO of iMDsoft. "This agreement is latest in our growing number of multi-site projects across Scandinavia, and confirms yet again that MetaVision is uniquely suited for region-wide implementations."

"Having an electronic record improves the quality of medication management and provides our staff with advanced clinical decision support and a better overview of patient and treatment information," said Lars Vorland, CEO of Helse Nord RHF.
