New Partnership with IDA Ireland Bolsters Cerner's Commitment to Drive Innovation and Advance Population Health Intelligence

CernerCerner has announced the plans to significantly grow its Dublin hub for research and development. Working with the support of the Irish Government through IDA Ireland, will be created 50 new roles focused on R&D and the improvement of data intelligence and population health management for the European clients.

The expertise and innovation Cerner will build in Ireland will initially focus on developing advanced predictive algorithms to run on the population health intelligence platform, HealtheIntentSM, and help the clients proactively manage health and improve the wellbeing of their communities. These advancements enable a shift from reactive care to proactive health, supporting health and care professionals to take appropriate preventative actions that can keep patients out of the hospitals, reduce morbidity, and encourage citizens to take ownership over the management of their health.

The expansion in Ireland reaffirms Cerner’s commitment to invest and contribute to Ireland's growth by developing local expertise and creating a research infrastructure that can then be leveraged for future projects. It also highlights the rapid growth of the industry-leading population health management tools and services around the globe.

Cerner will create 50 new research and development job positions to join the Dublin-based Intellectual Property (IP) development team over the next five years. New roles to be recruited include software engineers, software architects, designers and data visualisation developers, with different levels of knowledge and experience. Successful candidates will gain a variety of skills and receive training on relevant technology tools including different programming languages, big data and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and the Agile Software Development methodology.

Speaking about the announcement, Ireland’s Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD said: "I am delighted to see Cerner expand its Dublin operation with the creation of 50 high quality R&D jobs.
