InterSystems Ensemble Selected by The Institute of Cancer Research

InterSystemsInterSystems is working with The Institute of Cancer Research, one of the Europe's leading cancer research organisations, to streamline its administrative processes and increase data consistency and accuracy. The InterSystems Ensemble® rapid integration platform was chosen to integrate and simplify The Institute's internal administration associated with registering new starters and updating information on current employees.

The Institute of Cancer Research has continuous staff turnaround as research staff join The Institute for specific projects and short-to-medium time periods. As a result, the administration associated with registering and updating individual employee HR profiles, finance records, email accounts, IT support and more was onerous. Due to the specialist nature of The Institute, different processes were provided by different systems, and all information had to be entered separately and updated manually, creating the need to frequently review and verify data for consistency.

Thanks to InterSystems Ensemble, The Institute can now integrate facilities, financial, IT support, email and human resources systems. Information on every employee is to be shared among various applications, and any update will be automatically reflected to make sure all data is consistent and accurate.

"We chose InterSystems Ensemble because of its very extensive and mature systems integration and application development capabilities," noted Jeremy Harrington, IT Director at The Institute of Cancer Research. "Not only did it meet our basic needs for data integration and account provisioning, but the product also has a fully featured object-oriented database, workflow and business process management functionality. In addition, Ensemble is a highly functional platform for management of all aspects of application development."

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with such an important research organisation," commented Graham Frost, Group Director and Managing Director UK Region, InterSystems. "By selecting Ensemble, The Institute will be able to integrate its back office processes and thus improve administrative efficiency."
