Orion Health Appoints New EMEA Executive Vice President to Drive Population Health Strategy

Orion HealthOrion Health veteran Wayne Oxenham has been appointed Executive Vice President for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to drive forward the company's population health management strategy. Appointed in April 2015, Wayne is to focus on delivering successful projects for existing customers and will take on full operational regional leadership across EMEA. He will provide leadership to existing general managers across the region, and be responsible for business development, partnerships, and growing delivery capability.

"We are working with some of the most forward-thinking groups in global health in the EMEA region. This role gives me the opportunity to support those customers in helping them achieve their integrated care, service improvement and population health management ambitions, and spread the good practice that is happening across the area," he said.

Orion Health's technology solutions, are used by over 70 organisations throughout the National Health Service in England, as well as in Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland and many of Scotland’s health boards. The firm has three offices in UK as well as offices in France, Spain, Turkey and UAE.

Wayne brings a real passion and commitment to the healthcare sector, having worked within numerous healthcare organisations, including a public hospital, health insurance company and IT consulting companies before joining Orion Health in 2003. He has been at the firm for 11.5 years and has excelled in a wide range of roles across the business, including global services, product management, sales and general manager positions - most recently running a line of business for the company's Smarter Hospitals suite of software globally.

This rich background and extensive experience in sector wide and hospital specific projects from around the world means that Wayne can deliver great insight into the challenges around effective population health management and hospital management.

"Mass data integration and aggregation forms the baseline for any approach to population health management - without this widespread collection of information any efforts at improving the health of a population will be severely hampered," he said.

"The actionable benefits and the outcomes of effective population health management lie in the ability to deliver targeted analytics, care coordination tools and patient engagement tools. These are all areas that we have invested in heavily over the past 18 months to ensure that we have a complete solution to meet the needs of those tasked with improving population health."

Orion Health solutions can pull together previously unconnected social and health information to create a rich patient record. This enables care givers to consider both social and health influences in order to deliver the best care possible for individuals.

Wayne earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics before continuing his education with a Bachelor of Management Studies in Accounting and Finance. In 2012 Wayne received a Prime Minister's Business Scholarship in New Zealand to extend his international business studies at Harvard Business School.

Wayne lives an extremely active lifestyle, with a semi-professional sporting background in adventure racing, where he became world champion in 2008.
