Carestream Health Wins Orders for Eleven DR Systems in Scotland

Carestream HealthCarestream Health has won orders to supply a total of eleven DR systems to Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Fife Health Boards, building further on the company's recent successes in Europe. Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board are currently completing the building of two new, purpose designed Ambulatory Care Hospitals in and around Glasgow - the Victoria Infirmary on the south side of the city and Stobhill Hospital on the north. As a consequence, Carestream Health has received an order to install three KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR7500 systems at the Victoria Infirmary and a further three DR7500 systems and a KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR3500 system at Stobhill Hospital.

The new Victoria will be one of the largest hospitals in Scotland and is expected to treat around 400,000 patients annually when it opens later this year, while the £100 million Stobhill Hospital will also provide state-of-the-art health facilities for the people of Glasgow. Both projects are key components of the overall modernisation of Glasgow's acute hospitals.

Fife Health Board will install two KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR7500 systems at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline and one system each in Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and the new St Andrews Memorial Hospital in St Andrews.

Anton Graule, Regional Business Manager, Digital Capture Solutions, Europe North, Carestream Health, welcomed the orders: "Customers are choosing digital products from Carestream Health to improve both the quality and cost of patient care. Installations of the DR 7500 now include our latest industry leading software to help increase productivity and image quality. We are rapidly expanding our DR base across Europe as our innovative solutions meet the application, workflow and budget requirements of an increasing number of healthcare institutions."

The versatile, new-generation KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR 7500 will provide both health boards with the ultimate in digital radiography flexibility. Their modular components can operate as a single or dual detector system, and will allow configuration of the DR system to fit space, applications, workflow and budget.
