Capgemini and dbMotion enter into Swedish partnership agreement

dbMotion Ltd.Capgemini Sverige AB and dbMotion Ltd., one of the world's leading software suppliers of Integrated Solutions for Health information Exchange (HIE), have entered into a partnership agreement. This means that Capgemini will become a prime dbMotion partner in Sweden for providing a comprehensive solution for a National Integrated Patient Summary and local/regional medical information consolidation.

The Swedish national IT strategy for the health care sector, drawn up by the working group that was set up by Sweden's Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, singles out the National Integrated Patient Summary as one of its highest priorities.

dbMotion's Solution enables each of the parties within the health care sector to retain its existing information within its original location and format, while at the same time the patient information will be connected up to a national system so that the patient's overall medical information can be viewed in one integrated interface.

Different clinics have a need for different medical information solutions. The problem today is that it is not possible to view lab results, a patient's case notes or procedures and tests performed at other locations. The result is a threat to patient safety and quality care due to decisions being made based on partial medical information and the resulting repetition of tests and unnecessary examinations. These consequences place an additional burden not only on the patient's time and safety but also incur a major expense for society.

"No technical solution has previously existed for attaining the national vision of 'one patient - one record'. The county councils that have wanted to create a patient overview system have been forced to build it themselves, which has been very expensive both in terms of development and management. dbMotion has a standardised and packaged product which is relatively easy to integrate into the existing system," says HÃ¥kan Petersson, Head of Capgemini's public sector in Sweden.

dbMotion and the Capgemini group's intention is to build cooperation throughout Europe. As a consequence, Capgemini is now launching its collaboration with dbMotion with Sweden as an introductory market in order to subsequently expand the cooperation to the rest of Europe.

"Capgemini has the resources and competence to be a very important partner in establishing ourselves in Sweden and in other European markets. Capgemini's strength is that it can act as the facilitator in relation to the healthcare sector and assume responsibility for implementation of the dbMotion solution," states Ronen Avron, dbMotion's Vice President of International Sales.

dbMotion is one of the world's leading suppliers of Health Information Integration and Exchange solutions and as such is well positioned to help form a national health information system. With six years of experience in implementing health information exchange and customers in the USA, Holland and Israel, dbMotion offers a standardised and ready-packaged solution in order to integrate local, regional and national healthcare IT systems into one national solution.
