MEDICA 2006 with a comprehensive range of information on IT in health care

MEDICAThis year, the VHitG (Association of Manufacturers of IT Solutions for Health Care) and Messe Düsseldorf will again be organising their joint forum "MEDICA meet.IT – The Forum" from Wednesday to Friday within the context of the world's largest medical fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf (15 until 18 November 2006).

"This year's meet.IT-Forum will concentrate on the presentation of the products of our member companies in line with the environment in Hall 15", explains Dr. Wolrad Rube, Chairman of the VhitG. "We offer companies the opportunity of presenting themselves through a user or technical talk within the framework of the Forum."

This year, the emphasis of "MEDICA meet.IT – The Forum" will be on the following subjects:
1. Medical controlling (e.g.: patient management, sector-overlapping medical care, treatment directions, workflow support),
2. IT in nursing care (e.g.: care diagnostics and the recording of care services, case management, internal organisation in hospitals),
3. IT in the field of panel doctors (e.g.: telematic applications in medical practices, introduction of the electronic health card) and
4. Interoperability/ inter-sector communication.

The Forum will be held in the central IT hall of MEDICA (Hall 15) which this year will feature a joint presentation of hospital-information-system and medical-practice exhibitors for the first time. Next door, in Hall 14, are the providers of building technology (e. g. including nurse calling systems). Also situated in the immediate vicinity of Hall 15 is the Congress Center Düsseldorf East, in which decision makers from clinic management will be meeting for their leading annual conference, the 29th German Hospital Conference, held parallel to MEDICA 2006.
