Special Session in IASTED BioMED 2008 - Advances in Medical Decision Support Systems
February 13 – 15, 2008
Innsbruck, Austria

Innsbruck is nestled in the valley of the Inn River and tucked between the Austrian Alps and the Tuxer mountain range. It has twice hosted the Winter Olympics and is surrounded by the eight ski regions of the Olympic Ski World, including the Stubai Glacier, which offers skiing year round. Climbing the 14th century Stadtturm on Herzog Friedrich Strasse provides a stunning view of the town and the breathtaking scenery that surrounds it. Concerts at Ambras Castle provide listening pleasure in a beautiful renaissance setting.

With its unique blend of historical, intellectual, and recreational pursuits, Innsbruck offers something for every visitor. BioMED 2008 will be held at the world-famous Congress Innsbruck, located in the heart of the city, near the historical quarter.

The focus of this special session is on advances in medical decision support systems including determination of optimum classification schemes for the problem under study and also to infer clues about the extracted features. Topics include:

  • Decision Support Systems and Computer Aided Diagnosis
  • Biomedical Signal Processing Modelling, Simulation, Systems, and Control

  • November 1, 2007 Notification of acceptance
  • November 15, 2007 Camera-ready submissions
  • February 13-15, 2008 Conference and special sessions

Authors are requested to submit full papers (6 pages, single column) by emailing them to the session's organizer ( This email address is being protected from spambots.
