HIMSS EMEA To Launch Monthly eMessenger Service

HIMSS EMEAA new monthly eNewsletter will be delivered to healthcare ICT professionals across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region from mid-February 2007.

Produced by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) the eMessenger service will focus on one topical aspect of healthcare ICT each month and include a specially commissioned interviews with two experts in that field.

The first issue, set to land on desktops on 15 February, zooms in on Personal Health Systems and features an interview with Dr David Whiltinger, president of the Continua Health Alliance and keynote speaker at the recent European Commission Conference on the same topic (Brussels, 12-13 February). Continua represents almost 100 companies in the health, fitness, consumer electronic and technology sectors.

Each edition of the HIMSS EMEA eMessenger will also include a 'Perspectives' section and a question and answer corner. The former will offer opinions and news from the HIMSS EMEA secretariat while the latter will give readers an opportunity to submit their specific healthcare ICT-related queries.

Keeping professionals up-to-date is another area in which eMessenger will provide must-have content by flagging up important new documents available on the HIMSS website. This information will run alongside the dates of all major industry-relevant conferences and events.

And, in a new development, the expanded website will soon also host regular cutting-edge interviews with experts explaining their perspective on our 'topic of the month'.

General information on HIMSS EMEA and the benefits of joining the organisation will round up this easy-to-read, printer friendly communiqué.

HIMSS is the premier professional member organisation exclusively focused on providing leadership for the optimal use of information technology.

With the recent opening of its EMEA office in Brussels, HIMSS is now positioned to provide activities, programmes and education specifically designed for the region's healthcare ICT community.
