Final approval of the Swiss National eHealth Strategy

The Swiss Federal Council approved the National eHealth Strategy (2007-2015) proposed by the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA). It is in special based on the consultation report regarding the Swiss eHealth status and actions submitted by FDHA to the Federal Council in December 2006.

The Swiss National Strategy recognizes that Switzerland has an advanced eHealth level of development but in general it is on delay comparing with foreign realizations and activities in this sector. New focus would be to develop high quality eHealth (Healthcare IT) solutions with improved efficiency and in special with sound financial advantages.

The mentioned National eHealth Strategy (2007-2015) can be downloaded from the Federal Office of Public Health web site (eHealth Branch), it is accessible at the moment only in German.
