Forcomed Chooses Vue Cloud Solution for Digital Mammography e-Learning Programme in France

CarestreamThe partnership between medical training organisation Forcomed in France and Carestream Health is taking on a new dimension. After training several thousand radiologists in digital mammography on Carestream diagnostic workstations, Forcomed is launching an innovative Internet e-Learning training programme for digital mammography. The aim of this programme is to supplement radiologists' knowledge with a training module that is accessible to all users of compatible mammography diagnostic systems.

For the e-Learning programme, radiologists will access digital mammography imaging data stored in the Carestream data centre in France via a secure Internet connection from their own workstation. They can then follow the training module created by Forcomed and obtain a diagnosis via a specific web application developed by Carestream.

"This new programme is going to allow radiologists to further improve the quality of what they do without having to waste time travelling to and from the classroom for training," said a spokesperson from the Forcomed team.

Forcomed is registered and approved by the OGDPC, the public body responsible for implementing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for the medical profession in France, and offers a range of training programmes for radiologists, radiographers and other medical specialists. This Internet based training falls directly within the scope of CPD, which has become mandatory for all doctors in France.

"In terms of medical imaging, this is a first in France," said Christian Ducron, Healthcare Information Solutions Consultant at Carestream. "It is an opportunity for Carestream not just to continue its partnership with Forcomed, but also to demonstrate the enormous flexibility and broad spectrum of cloud technologies we offer."
