CeBIT 2009 - TeleHealth 2009 Boasts an Extended Program

TeleHealth 2009From 3 to 8 March TeleHealth 2009 exhibitors will showcase the latest products and services under the programmatic motto "IT in healthcare delivery". The display will be divided into three sections: Telemedicine, Healthcare Management and Healthcare Project. Deutsche Messe will also welcome exhibitors who want to spend only two days at TeleHealth as opposed to the full six.

Following the successful integration of TeleHealth into CeBIT in 2008, Deutsche Messe has decided to extend this international conference and exhibition for ICT solutions in the healthcare sector to six full days. "For the majority of our exhibitors two days were simply not enough. For this reason the duration of TeleHealth 2009 will correspond to that of CeBIT," explained Ernst Raue, the Deutsche Messe Board Member responsible for CeBIT.

"Modern healthcare would be impossible without advanced IT. Computer-based technologies already play a key part in delivering top-quality prevention, diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation and nursing care. Against this background we will develop TeleHealth and reinforce its status as the number-one showcase for health-care related IT applications," Raue continued.

In 2009 TeleHealth will be staged together with Future Parc and Public Sector Parc in Hall 9. "By integrating the three sectors Healthcare, Public Administration and R&D we will generate vital synergies that will benefit exhibitors as well as visitors," Raue emphasized.

With its three core components - Conference, Expo und Networking - TeleHealth creates an efficient international marketing channel for manufacturers, service providers and suppliers of ICT technology.

The TeleHealth Conference (Thursday 5 - Friday 6 March 2009) will focus on practical applications of healthcare IT and explore future scenarios. Visitors will be entitled to attend the conference free of charge.

The TeleHealth Congress will include numerous congresses, symposiums and best-practice lectures. These will be a mine of useful information for physicians, nursing staff, administrators and healthcare service providers. Patients also have an excellent opportunity to find out more about new IT-based therapies. "At TeleHealth patients have the chance to acquaint themselves with innovative treatment methods. This will put them in a better position to demand these treatment methods from their physician and/or health insurance provider," Raue concluded.
