Conference Invitation
Current demographic, economic and social conditions all developed countries are faced with require a paradigm change for delivering high quality and efficient health services. Advanced healthcare systems -in that context- have to turn from organisation-centred to process-oriented and finally towards individualised patient's care, also called personal care, based on eHealth platform services. Interoperability requirements for ubiquitous personalised health services reach beyond current concepts of health information integration among professional stakeholders and related Electronic Patient Records: Future personal health platforms have particularly to maintain semantic interoperability among systems using different modalities and technologies, different knowledge representation and domain experts' languages as well as different coding schemes and terminologies to include home care as well as personal and mobile systems. This development is not restricted to counties, regions or countries, but appears globally, requiring a comprehensive international communication and collaboration.

From December 2nd to 5th, 2007, the eHealth Competence Center Regensburg supported by several national, European and international partners, organises an International Conference on eHealth thereby uniquely combining Health Telematics, Telemedicine, Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics to the edge. In its international part from December 2nd to 4th, the conference offers invited English speeches from internationally leading experts representing all domains involved in eHealth. The sessions contain presentations on eHealth, telematics and telemedicine projects, initiatives, standardisation, research and development, data protection and data security, modelling, system architecture, applications, communication and much more. Scheduled for December, the international event will allow the participants spending a few days in Regensburg, the new diamond on the list of UNESCO's World Heritages.

Although generally demonstrating and facilitating international collaboration, the last day of the event offers respective national tracks for Germany and its neighbour country, the Czech Republic. The national day has its own calls for submissions.
