Doctors 2.0 & You 7 Start-up Finalists to Enter the Last Round of the Contest

Doctors 2.0 & You4 - 5 June 2015, Paris, France.
Doctors 2.0 & You, the international healthcare social media conference in Europe, has announced the names of the seven digital health start-up candidates who will compete in the start-up contest, June 4-5, 2015 on the campus of  Cité Universitaire Internationale in Paris. The contest reflects the Doctors 2.0 & You partnership with Stanford Medicine X. The first place winner of the Doctors 2.0 & You contest will have the opportunity to present his or her pitch in Palo Alto California, on September 27, 2015 at Doctors 2.0 & You sister conference, Stanford Medicine X, in the presence of Denise Silber, Doctors 2.0 & You founder.

The start-up companies, all under three years of age are, by alphabetical order, are listed here:

  • CanSurround "an exceptionally personalized, innovative web and mobile experience for individuals living with cancer" from the United States
  • Ignilife, "a unique web and mobile coaching platform to empower people to be active in managing their own health and wellness" from France
  • Junnah, "a cloud-based Arabic health and fitness software platform offering a comprehensive suite of features, smart phone apps, and individualized support services and programs" from Saudi Arabia
  • Medclinik, whose first product, "TAVIERX, is the world's first clinically validated VirtualNurseTM platform, with personalized and interactive patient coaching to optimize treatment adherence" from Canada
  • Nemo Health, who "integrates cutting-edge and sustainable mobile technologies in order to bring to the market disruptive, reliable, and cost efficient medical devices for physicians and patients"
  • The SelfCare people provides an integrated, secure & scalable Complex Health data analytic platform with a Web Dashboard, an interactive mobile app, Wireless Gateway at home which helps patients measure, track and gather data… to take ownership of their Health, from the UK
  • Wellsense Ireland is a unique health care pilot programme which takes place in a Primary Healthcare centre and is supervised by onsite family doctors, with the goal of treating common mental health issues, through onsite experience and online engagement, from Ireland.

According to Denise Silber, the activities of the 7 companies reflect the current worldwide interest in coaching patients and in creating disruptive devices for physicians, the two activities that are represented. The jury will include the winners from the 2014 start-up contest, Tal Givoly, founder of Medivizor (Israel) and Dr JC Loh, CEO of Medexo (Germany), as well as Aurore Géraud, senior journalist at French media partner Atelier, BNP Paribas, Michael Dillhyon, CEO Europe of VitalConnect (US and Switzerland), Martin Kelly, CEO of HealthXL (Ireland), and a patient.
