TICBioMed - ICT Health Cluster of Spain's Murcia Region

TICBioMedTICBioMed is a cooperation platform for technology firms, health organisations, universities and other stakeholders involved in technological innovation applied to medicine, healthcare and biology in Murcia Region (Southeast Spain).

The cluster aims to develop innovative interactions between health organisations and their suppliers, moving from the vendor-customer relationship to a framework of innovation partnership cooperation. The objective is to align health needs to the services provided by ICT firms and university work groups, in a model called Aligned Innovation.

The structural characteristics of the Murcia Region favor the detection of technological innovation in the health sector and its implementation on the daily activities of its health centers, contributing to optimize efficiency and efficacy through better information and knowledge management.

"TICBioMed support its members in their business models, commercialization, management skills and 'intelligent' private funding" said Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, business coordinator of TICBioMed activities.

"The excellent technology infrastructure of Murcia Region in the healthcare sector is an ideal location for testing innovative, creative, national or international projects.

"Public funding is available to TICBioMed, and currently we are starting several national and international iniciatives to support entrepreneurs and SMEs to commercialize their innovations in the European eHealth market" highlighted Dr. Jorge Gonzalez.
