Voice Technologies Awarded Contract for Walton Centre

Voice Technologies has been appointed by the Walton Centre to provide digital dictation solutions to the Trust, with the agreement taking place under the Framework Agreement for NHS Trusts in Yorkshire and Humber.

Becoming the latest specialist hospital to select Voice Technologies as a supplier, the contract was awarded following competitive pitches from six other companies, with Voice Technologies selected to provide the Walton Centre with WinScribe to provide ongoing efficiency savings to the Trust.

Employing approximately 800 staff, the Walton Centre is unique to the NHS in that it is the only specialist Neurosciences Trust in the UK. Based in Liverpool, the Trust's catchment population is over 3.5 million, which includes residents from Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, the Isle of Man and north Wales. The Walton Centre provides a range of services, including neurology, neurosurgery, pain management, rehabilitation and specialist diagnostic services.

Julie Thompson from the Walton Centre says: "Voice Technologies demonstrated an excellent knowledge of the industry, providing us with real life examples of the improvements that they had helped implement at other Trusts. We are confident that their solutions will allow us to significantly improve turnaround times, while also reducing our internal costs."

The Walton Centre is now one of several specialist hospitals using Voice Technologies' services, adding to the Royal Hospitals for Sick Children in Glasgow and Aberdeen, the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and the Golden Jubilee Hospital.

Sales and Technical Director at Voice Technologies, Alistair Graham, says: "The vast geographical area covered by the Walton Centre means they are tasked with managing thousands of patient documents on a weekly basis, which puts a lot of demand on administrative staff. Through implementing digital dictation solutions, we will be able to offer the Trust an efficient and economical method of reducing time and costs, while allowing staff more time to focus on other duties."
