HIMSS Europe Opens Nomination Process for The HIMSS Europe Award for eHealth Leadership 2011

HIMSS EuropeHIMSS Europe has launched the nomination for the HIMSS Europe Award for eHealth Leadership, which recognises an individual who, in the judgment of the HIMSS Europe Governing Council, has demonstrated significant leadership in promoting the use of information technology in healthcare in Europe [1].

To be eligible for the HIMSS Europe Award for eHealth Leadership, the candidate must:

  • be resident in Europe
  • be professionally active in Europe

Criteria

  • The HIMSS Europe Award for eHealth Leadership is given in recognition of European level leadership in the field of eHealth
  • The award may be made for leadership in eHealth deployment, innovation, policy development, advocacy, or training at a European level towards the transformation of healthcare
  • It may be made to for a single exceptional contribution, for a sustained engagement, or for a lifetime of exceptional leadership which has had impact across Europe

The Nomination Process

  • Nominations may be made by any third party, whether a member of HIMSS or not.
  • The nominations must be submitted via e-mail to the HIMSS Europe Secretariat - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Nominations must include a brief biographical sketch of the individual to be recognised by the award and a concise description of the contribution that causes it to be worthy of special recognition by HIMSS Europe.
  • Recipient will be notified after the final approval by the Council with issuance of the award at the World of Health IT 2011

Nominations failing to complete the application process as described above will not be considered.

The HIMSS Europe Award for eHealth Leadership consists of:

  • Symbol of Recognition
  • Publication of information in an official HIMSS Publication and website

Award Frequency and Timing
The HIMSS Europe Award for eHealth Leadership will be presented on the 2011 World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition, taking place in Budapest, Hungary on the 10 - 13 May, 2011.

HIMSS Europe is accepting submissions until Monday 20 December 2010
