Finnish Hospital Running Tieto's IT System Recognised Internationally for Best Practices

TietoSavonlinna Central Hospital, part of East Savo Hospital District, was awarded a top prize for its best practices in healthcare IT by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) at the World of Health IT (WoHIT) event in Copenhagen, Denmark, in May 2012.

Savonlinna Central Hospital was assessed as meeting the requirements of the prestigious Stage 6 of hospital IT maturity categorisation. The key elements of the hospital’s IT system are supplied by Tieto. The Award recognizes hospitals that represent best practises in implementation of the electronic medical record (EMR) and operate in a paperless environment.

This is the first time ever that the prize has been awarded to a Finnish hospital.
