Tunstall Reveals the Digital Future at Housing LIN Annual Conference

TunstallLeading partner to housing and care providers, Tunstall Healthcare, will be revealing its latest ground breaking vision, which is set to revolutionise housing with care, at the Housing LIN's Annual Conference. Communicall Vi IP is the UK's first IP housing communications system, using digital technology to enhance the resident experience and set a new benchmark in service provision.

Colleagues will be available on stand 2 to demonstrate how Communicall Vi IP represents the beginning of a journey towards digitally enabled support, which will help individuals live life to the full and support the delivery of sustainable services. The system enables ultra-fast alarm reporting and concurrent alarm call handling to support efficient care delivery, while residents can remain connected and safe using their state-of-the art touchscreen phone to call other residents and manage video door entry. Installing the system using Cat6 cabling enables schemes to take advantage of future opportunities, such as the cost-effective provision of telephony and WiFi direct to residents. Other facilities to support social inclusion can be included, such as electronic noticeboard, information kiosk and the myworld information portal to help residents feel connected to their families and communities.

Delegates can learn about the benefits of using technology enabled care in practice at the conference's Knowledge and Innovation Exchange Sessions. Tom Brown, Associate Director for Extra Care at Hanover Housing Association will be describing their vision for technology enabled homes, and how it is helping them to achieve their aim of improving residents' wellbeing and supporting them to remain at home as their needs change.

A further session will see Matthew Warnes, CEO, Adaptive Technology (Europe) Limited sharing ways to develop, design and deliver life changing technology enabled housing with care tailored to the needs of a wide range of people living with disabilities. Simon Herdsfield, Head of Wellbeing and Support at Herefordshire Housing will be revealing how technology can be utilised to support life skills, reablement, lifetime care and independent living in extra care.

The conference will also see the launch of Revolutionising Technology Enabled Housing With Care, a white paper which has been developed by Tunstall with the support of the Housing LIN to paint a picture of the future of housing with care with a specific focus on the use of technology. The paper summarises the results from an online survey and lively workshop held with the South West Housing LIN leadership set on 22 January 2015, and covers the challenges, barriers to adoption and ways to overcome the barriers.

Kevin Alderson, UK Sales & Marketing Director at Tunstall said "Our vision is to work in partnership with providers to help the people they support live their lives to the full in a place of their choice that meets their physical and emotional needs. Communicall Vi IP is a step forward into the future of housing with care; moving to a digital platform opens up a whole world of possibilities and we are excited to be going on this journey with our customers."
