HIMSS Europe has announced a new, annual Pan-European eHealth event that will take place in Barcelona, Spain every autumn starting in November 2016.

"The new tracks, in combination with workshops, hospital tours and an innovative exhibition floor will create a truly unique event. Barcelona is a fantastic destination, so we are expecting a large number of delegates from all across Europe."

Spain was previously host to HIMSS Europe's largest ever event, it also has digital maturity at its heart with the largest number of HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 hospitals in the whole of Europe and one of only three EMRAM Stage 7 hospitals.

Stephen Bryant, Managing Director of HIMSS UK and HIMSS Europe added: "Having WoHIT in Barcelona each year is a response to the demands from healthcare IT suppliers and healthcare providers for a fixed eHealth event in the autumn. WoHIT will bring with a completely new structure, programme, innovative show floor and audience.

"Our other signature event, eHealth Week, will continue to take place each spring in partnership with the European Commission and the rotating European Ministries holding the European Commission Presidencies to address strategy and policy meanwhile WoHIT will address the immediate needs and challenges of frontline healthcare IT professionals in their daily work."
